Mean vs. Rude vs. Bullying

Mr. Biggerstaff, K8 Counselor, is visiting classrooms to define and explain Mean, Rude, and Bullying.

Mean is saying or doing something on purpose to hurt someone maybe once or twice, sometimes in anger or to make someone else look bad.

Rude is unintentionally saying or doing something that hurts feelings or embarrasses someone. It is inconsiderate, thoughtless, unplanned behavior i.e. bad manners, self-centered.

Bullying is S.T.OM.P it happens Several Times, is One-sided, Mean, and Purposeful. Or one-sided, on purpose, and repeated involving an imbalance of power. It can be verbal/physical, manipulative, and can happen using social media as well.
